Water Quality - No 1 Concern to the Americans.

concern about environmental problems related to water.

Americans were recently asked in a Gallup poll to rank the top 12 environment

FreshWaterAlert - A Call to Water
Quality Risk Management Action.
March 20, 2008, Atlanta, GA --- To put the spotlight on Water Quality issues in 2008, the H2oAlliance recognizes the World Water Day by announcing a New Global Water Quality Risk Management partnership program entitled FreshWaterAlert, and launching WEMS, the first online Water Quality Management Platform in the world. Stakeholders around the world are encouraged to draw attention to the water quality challenge, economic risks and safety issues, and are invited to join the WEMS platform.
The quality of water, whether it is used for drinking, industrial processes, irrigation or recreational purposes, is significant for individual's health as well as corporate wealth. The issue is relevant in both developing and developed countries worldwide. Water quality can have a major impact on the economy, both through outbreaks of waterborne disease and pollution. Accordingly, the private sector and the public sector have developed water quality standards, policies, and management programs.
A very important aspect of water management process is a better understanding of the water quality. However, a management policy can not be developed or improved without the availability of water quality data. Therefore, water quality data forms the basis for developing any water management policy.
