A Call To Action to Help Haiti Earthquake Victims --- and Water Projects Simultaneously.
January 18, 2010, Atlanta, GA --- The H2OAlliance launched a global water initiative today for Haiti earthquake victims. This initiative, entitled 'LetCleanWatersFlow in Haiti', is an opportunity for individuals and organizations to participate and accelerate the recovery from the devastation brought on by Earthquake in Haiti.
The disaster in Haiti warrants extraordinary measures by all of us, including the stakeholders of H2OAlliance. And so, we've decided to take the 3 steps; step one - sharing UN internal situation reports with our stakeholders and partners so you have the latest information from the ground. These reports provide extraordinary, first-hand detail to show you some of the work being done to save the people at risk; step two - raising funds for water projects in Haiti; and step three - contributing our expertise to accelerate the recovery in Haiti.
It has been said
that it takes a village to raise a child. It will take a global
community of experts to help save the families, adults, children,
and pets in Haiti. H2OAlliance working group will focus on helping victims by contributing to recovery projects in Haiti. The latest reports estimate that it will require hundreds of millions of dollars to just to clean out and rebuild the affected areas in Haiti. This figure could climb to much more as the rebuilding process moves forward. The international organizations will provide relief today, but more will be needed in the future to replace and repair the water infrastructure, land, buildings, public facilities, highways and transportation.
But... What about the People? And Families affected by the earthquake? 100% of all fundraiser proceeds and donations will be directed to non-profit water projects. All contributions will benefit and help restore the lives of all people in the destroyed areas. Proceeds will help rebuild water infrastructure and homes, feed and provide financial aid for those in need. We will continue working at least three years - or until the job is finished.
Join us to help restore families and communities in Haiti. You can direct your contributions including funds and expertise to Haiti relief efforts of your choice, or you can sponsor a project in Haiti. For more information:

H2oAlliance Celebrates the Holiday Season by Launching the H2O Ambassador Initiative
December 8, 2008, Helsinki, Finland --- In an effort to help children and families in need for safe and clean drinking water and promote world peace, H2oAlliance EU launched a new program in 2008, entitled 'H2O Ambassadors'. H2oAlliance team today announced this unique industry-led initiative to encourage and enable individuals to take action in their own companies and communities worldwide. The initiative engages H2oAlliance's global network of individuals and organizations to raise awareness and encourage investment in water projects and promote education.
Awareness and education can reduce conflicts and improve the availability of clean and safe drinking water. "We need to make people aware of the world water crisis, and how they can help. Communication and collaboration will promote world peace and understanding between people and nations. This program was initiated by our team in Finland, who were inspired by the Finnish president Martti Ahtisaari, the 2008 Nobel Peace Prize winner, for his work on several continents for over three decades to resolve international conflicts. His efforts have contributed to a more peaceful world and to build a fraternity between nations in Alfred Nobel's spirit. We want to continue his valuable work to the world", said Minna LeVine, H2O Ambassador Program Administrator, H2oAlliance Global.
