FreshWaterAlert™ Campaign

Water has been called "the Blue Gold of this Century". The global importance of water in the 21st century will be comparable to that of oil in the 20th. In many parts of the world, a gallon of water costs more than a gallon of gasoline.

Taking care of the FreshWater is a global issue, but it starts with the individuals. Increased industry, regulatory, and consumer interest is crucial to solve problems concerning freshwater quality, resource depletion, and pollution around the world.

Investment in new innovative water quality management technologies can drastically cut pollution, save freshwater resources, and minimize water-related risks especially during emergencies such as floods, droughts, and national security.

Our primary goal is to mobilize the business community as a leading force for world water crisis reduction. We foster water initiatives which contribute to international understanding and cooperation, helping to bring about a peaceful and sustainable world.

Campaign Goals

  • Meeting the basic needs; recognizing that access to safe and sufficient water, and sanitation are the basic human needs, and are essential to health and well-being.
  • Securing the food supply; enhancing food security, particularly of the poor and vulnerable, through more efficient mobilization and use of water and the more equitable allocation of water for food production.
  • Protecting ecosystems; ensuring the integrity of ecosystems through sustainable water resources management.
  • Managing risks; providing drinking water safety solutions, promoting security from floods, droughts, pollution and other water-related hazards.
  • Sharing water resources; promoting peaceful cooperation and developing synergies between different uses of water at all levels, whereever possible, within and - in the case of boundary and transboundary water resources - between concerned states, through sustainable river basin management or other appropriate approaches.
  • Valuing water; managing water in a way that reflects its economic, social, environmental and cultural values in all uses, with a move torwards pricing water services to reflect the cost of their provision. This approach should account for the need for equity and the basic needs of the poor and the vulnerable.
  • Governing water wisely; ensuring food governance, so that the involvement of the public and the interests of all stakeholders are included in the management of water resources.
Mission

We connect the public and the private sector, non-profits and for-profits, communities, organizations, and individuals. We communicate direct to affinity memberships, and philanthropists through FreshWaterAlert™ partner programs.

We provide FREE education and ongoing support to volunteers and partners worldwide. We manage FreshWaterAlert™ partnership programs, and deliver news, reports and email alerts. We develop unique awareness products and services, and offer new opportunities for all partners
.

Vision

The primary goal of our campaign is to provide education, raise awareness, and promote volunteer efforts. Our mission is to develop an integrated global network of volunteers.
We provide solutions to improve water quality and water-efficiency in communities we live and work in. Our vision is to help ease the burden on millions of families and children who currently struggle to access safe drinking water. We promote world peace through freshwater awareness.

Our volunteers use entrepreneurial approaches to increase awareness, and to help non-profit partners raise much needed funds for worthy causes. The campaign encourages people to support our non-profit partners worldwide, and UNICEF's drive to bring safe water to communities, helping families and children in emergency situations, and reducing household exposure to contaminated water. You can make a direct donation today to: www.Unicef.org
.

FreshWaterAlert™ is a great example of how combining resources of the public and private sector volunteers can improve drinking water quality in communities, and bring safe drinking water within easy reach of the families that need it. To join our fast global group of volunteers, please contact H2oAlliance today. We will help you get started in your community today.

Partners

FreshWaterAlert™ is a fast growing global community of volunteers.

Our volunteers incorporate charitable planning into their business. We embrace the concept that winning companies do not only provide strong returns to their shareholders but also share their successes with their community, and employees. We are very proud of our efforts and contributions. Our unique approach and obvious passion make an impact everyday - everywhere around the world.

Embracing a cause makes good business sense. Nothing builds brand loyalty among today's increasingly hard-to-please consumers like a company's proven commitment to a worthy cause. Other things being equal, many consumers would rather do business with a company that stands for something beyond profits.

Cause-related approach adds powerful marketing edge and can become a cornerstone of your marketing plan. Your marketing activities should highlight your company's reputation within your target market. They can also positively differentiate your company from your competitors and provide an edge that delivers other tangible benefits, including increased sales, visibility, customer loyalty, enhanced company image and positive media coverage.

By choosing a cause that you are passionate about, cause-related marketing is emotionally fulfilling. It's a way to merge your profit center with your "passion center" and build a business that mirrors your personal values, beliefs, and integrity. If your cause also resonates with your target market, your activities will generate tremendous goodwill with media attention as its side effect.

We are making a difference. It goes without saying... every time a consumer purchases a FreshWaterAlert™ awareness product or service from one of our independent volunteers or corporate partners, their purchase will benefit a worthy water-related cause, charity or non-profit organization. We make it easy, fast and convenient for people to regularly make a difference – everywhere around the world. It is amazing what a group of committed people can do!

Our mission is to inspire, identify and empower professionals and business leaders. We bring them together to take action.

Here's how You can get involved today:

Step 1. Learn more about the water issues in your community

Visit FreshWaterAlert™ pages to read, print out, give out on different issues relating to water qualitysanitation. You will find a selection of online publications, videos, education kits, websites, and reports classified by theme for learning more about the issues and researching about the state of sanitation.

Step 2. Find out what is happening in your community.

Step 3. Raise awareness

Build a link from your website to FreshWaterAlert™ page. Here is the link: www.FreshWaterAlert.org

Plan events around water, encourage your school system, organizations, and local government to help develop and promote water quality management among children and adults.

Create co-branded stickers, posters, songs, plays, radio messages, tv spots, anything that can be used by your community to educate people about hygiene and sanitation and to give them ideas about what they can do. Take pictures of your community doing concrete action to promote water quality, describe your volunteer efforts and send info to us to have a chance to share your stories and experiences with others around the world. Write an article for your local newspaper or newsletter or encourage your newspaper to cover water quality issues.

Step 4. Learn what you can do everyday

Volunteer and work within a community group, organization, network etc., organize some events relating to water quality during the year, public awareness campaigns, speaking series, letter writing campaigns etc. Look at past promises made by your government in terms of water quality in your community, state or country and in other countries and see if these promises were kept. If not, follow up on this and start campaigns to remind your government of these promises, and to encourage and mobilize your own community to get started on ensuring that these agreements are kept. Water quality is everyone's responsibility. It starts with you.

Step 5. Send us your projects and ideas

Do you have more ideas? Click here to send us an email. We are always looking for new material for the website to share with others including ideas, pictures, websites, projects etc. Be creative.
