H2OAlliance Monitoring and Measuring Working Group

This working group is an independent New-Tech Business Forum serving the monitoring and measuring needs of the global water market.
We invite you to join us.

Benefits

Drought

The effects of climate change (temperature), droughts, freshwater distribution, and rapidly growing population and industry, direct community and business leaders' attention to real-time monitoring solutions.

It is essential that the community leaders address the freshwater problems and the business leaders promote the use of real-time water quality monitoring technologies especially during drought and long dry season. Constant monitoring and effective management methods conserve freshwater, mitigate risks and prevent possible crisis situations. Constant water quality monitoring is vital to ensure the best possible water quality in distribution systems, groundwater and surface water sources.

Ground Water Monitoring

Long-term ground water surface fluctuations change the oxidation level of the ground water and the surrounding terrain which in turn affect both the bacterial activity and the presence of harmful substances, (i.e. heavy metals).

The oxidation level change and the increase of harmful substances and bacteria may occur suddenly even overnight. If this harmful increase is not detected early enough, it may cause permanent stand in the water system. Cleaning and disinfection may take several days and this consumes remarkable amounts of clean water.

When the ground water decreases in a specific area, this area may be refilled with different water from another area. This forms a great risk of poor water quality.

Our experts have over a decade of experience in ground water monitoring and management. We offer offer unique solutions using real-time monitoring tools and systems to measure the above-mentioned cases.

Surface Water Monitoring

The decreasing level of the lake water creates a change in the lake's oxidation level which in turn increases the amount of harmful substances dissolved from the bottom of the lake. The result is water contamination. The process of disinfection can involve a complex series of chemical reactions which may not yield the desired quality of water. This initiates a great health risk by letting harmful substances, bacteria and viruses into the water distribution system.

During a long dry season the exposure time of substances to oxidation with the air increases. Once the water surface raises the risk for dissolving the oxidized harmful substances into the water increases.

We have developed new applications to monitor the water quality before and after the disinfection process in real-time. Should there be changes in either end of the water disinfection process, immediate actions can be taken to maintain the overall quality.

Desalination

The desalination process is time and money consuming and can result in poor yield. In many systems it is possible for the poor quality desalinated water to mix with clean water resulting in contamination.

Our solutions enable monitoring the salinity of the water as well as other substances affecting the water quality in real time. This helps to control overall quality and consistency and allows for the production of customized water blends.

Diminishing water consumption in industrial processes Industry, for example food and beverage use large amounts of water to disinfect the pipes and other process equipments. The amounts of water used in these processes are significant due to high standards of cleanliness in the equipment.

Our solutions and methods enable real-time monitoring of the water inputs and outputs used in this process which coupled with process control will improve the overall efficiency and reduce the required amounts of water needed to achieve adequate cleanness level. This prevents using water excessively or "just in case".

Industrial Water, Liquids and Slurries

Production plants have to recycle water re-use in the process. This requires effective disinfection processes. Even minor disturbances decrease the effectiveness of the production processes considerably.

By using our solutions the quality of the inputs and outputs of water in the disinfection process can be measured in real-time, which enables the early process revising actions. This monitoring coupled with process control creates an efficient process and reduces waste water.
